The website was introduces at a simple but dignified ceremony at the National Press Club, Islamabad.
Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event was jointly organized by IRNA and National Press Club.
In his speech, Honardoost emphasizes the role of media in removing the gap of information about the capacities and capabilities of Iran and Pakistan as a hurdle against bilateral trade ties.
IRNA Bureau Chief in Pakistan Mohammad Reza Manafi in his presentation highlighted the objectives of newly launched IRNA Urdu news service.
He said that IRNA is trying its best to show capabilities and capacities available in Pakistan and Iran to the people of both friendly countries.
He said he expected the Pakistani media to do the same.
He said that IRNA is trying to portray the real image of Pakistan in its news stories, which is quite different from the dark and fake images shown by some western media.
A good number of Pakistani journalists from electronic and print media attended the gathering.
