42nd flotilla of Iranian Navy departs for high seas

Bandar Abbas, Hormuzgan pro., July 18, IRNA - The 42nd flotilla of the Iranian Navy departed for high seas on Monday in a ceremony attended by Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

The flotilla was dispatched to high seas on Monday simultaneous with the return of the 41st fleet of the Iranian Navy to the country.

Addressing the ceremony, Sayyari underscored that the flotilla, consisting of Alvand destroyer and Tonb logistic-combat warship, is set to defend maritime routes used by Iranian vessels operating in high seas.

The 41st flotilla, consisting of Lavan logistic warship and Alborz destroyer, came back home in the country’s southern coasts on Monday after sailing over 5,130 miles in 48 days in the remote waters.
