The 34-year-old Gheychisaz had conquered Everest mountain peak in 2005, but by using supplementary oxygen.
By 2014, he had successfully completed ascent to 13 peaks out of 14 peaks over 8'000 meters.
“The world has 14 mountain peaks with 8,000-meterheight and I have conquered 13 of them so far, but since I had climbed the Everest by using supplementary oxygen in 2004 I was eager to conquer the mountain peak again without using supplementary oxygen,” Gheychisaz said on Thursday.
Gheychisaz was born in Tabriz, East Azarbaijan province, in 1981. He is a member of Iranian national mountaineering team.
Except in ascending to Everest he did all of his ascents without supplementary oxygen, without Hi-porters.
Gheychisaz’s successful ascents include following peaks; Marble Wall Peak (6400 m) in 2002, Gasherbrum I in 2003, Diran Peak (up to 5500m) in 2004, Spantik in 2004, Everest in 2005, Ararat in 2005, Noshaq in 2006, Broad Peak in 2008, Pobeda Peak in 2009, Dhaulagiri, the first Iranian ascent in 2010, Nanga Parbat in 2010, Kangchenjunga in 2011, Gasherbrum II in 2011, Annapurna in 2012, K2 in 2012, Manaslu in 2012, Makalu in 2013,
Cho Oyu in 2013 and Shishapangma in 2014.

Tehran, May 19, IRNA – Iranian mountain climber Azim Gheychisaz managed to conquer the world’s highest mountain peak Everest without using oxygen capsule on Thursday.
