Iran’s Norouzian shoots at Rio Olympic target

Tehran, Jan 31, IRNA - Iran’s marksman Pouria Norouzian booked his berth in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Saturday, the Tehran-based English newspaper 'Iran Daily' reported.

Norouzian, 24, finished third in the 10m air rifle gaining 184.2 points at the Asia Olympic Qualifying Competition for Shooting in New Delhi, India.

Japan’s Naoya Okada stole the show and Yuriy Yurkov of Kazakhstan was runner-up.

Only the top two shooters would qualify for the prestigious Olympics. But as the Kazakh shooter had already secured his place in Rio Games, Iran’s Norouzian found his way into Olympics.

Iran’s markswomen Najmeh Khedmati, Elaheh Khedmati and Golnoush Sebqatollahi had already secured their places in the Olympics.
