Empower mosques as community development centers: Malaysian Crown Prince

Tehran, Jan 30, IRNA – The Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of the Malaysian state of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail wants the role of the mosque to be empowered and expanded as a community and Muslim development center.

'During the times of Prophet Muhammad [PBUH], mosques were used as centers of unity which did away with differences in background, rank, wealth, community, culture and skin color,' he said when opening the Al-Madinah Mosque, on Friday, Bernama reported.
He said mosques must symbolize unity and the strength of Muslims and portray the actual Islamic image which loves peace.
