Amir Abdollahian: Bad ties with Riyadh not to affect Syria talks

Moscow, Jan 28, IRNA – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced that Tehran will do its utmost efforts to prevent its severed ties with the Riyadh government.

'We will try that Saudi Arabia's wrong decision to cut diplomatic ties with Iran not to influence the efforts aimed at resolving the Syrian political crisis,' Amir Abdollahian said on Thursday, addressing a press conference attended by Russian and foreign journalists.

He underlined that Iran does not welcome creating tensions in relation to Saudi Arabia, on the contrary we invite that country to stop its provocative measures.

Amir Abdollahian pointed to his meeting and consultations with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov earlier in Moscow, and said, 'During this meeting we talked about Iran-Saudi Arabia relations.'

'Our message to our friends and the neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf is always friendship, cooperation, peace and tranquility,' he added.
