President Rouhani meets Iranians in France

Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA – Visiting President Hassan Rouhani said Iranians enjoy the open-minded stance and ingenuity aimed at serving humanity.

Speaking in a gathering in Paris attended by a large number of Iranians residing in France, President Rouhani said: 'All of us are proud of being an Iranian'.

He added that there is no doubt that if it wasn't for Iran's efforts we would have a terrorist state in the region instead of a group.

President Rouhani also appreciated the round-the-clock efforts of Iranian nuclear negotiating team, Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and Director of the Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi in particular, for settling Iran's nuclear issue.

President Rouhani arrived in the French capital from Italy on Wednesday afternoon as the second and last leg of his European tour.

Rouhani's visit to France is a follow-up of an earlier invitation by his French counterpart Francois Holland.

Rouhani began his tour of Europe on Monday when he left Tehran for Rome.
