Iran's nine-month chicken, egg exports up 20%: Official

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Deputy Agricultural Jihad Minister for Animal Products Hassan Rokni said on Wednesday that Iran's exports of chicken and egg shows 20 percent increase over the nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (began on March 21, 2015).

Last year, Iran exported 150,000 tons of chicken and egg which is expected to reach 200,000 tons this year, Rokni said.
Iran used to be an importer of chicken and egg two years ago but it has turned to an exporter of the products, he added.
Rokni also said that some 650,000 tons of milk and dairy were exported last year out of the overall 8.8 million tons of milk produced in the country over the past year.
