Russian senior lawmaker urges visa exemption with Iran

Moscow, Jan 25, IRNA – Russia's State Duma Vice-Speaker Nikolai Levichev has called for visa exemption with Iran.

He said removing visa formalities between Iran and Russia will enhance bilateral relations including the people-to-people contacts, Iran's Embassy in Moscow announced.
Levichev has suggested that Iran's rich and ancient culture can bridge the gap for Russian tourists who are no longer considering travelling to Turkey and Egypt.
Iran and Russia are cooperating in various fields from agriculture to space, he said.
Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei recently announced Tehran's readiness to unilaterally lift visa requirements for Russian tourists.
