MoU on financing Shiraz-Assaluyeh railway finalized with Chinese firm

Bushehr, Jan 25, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Road and Urban Development and Managing Director of Transportation Infrastructure Development Company Ali Nourzad announced an MoU on financing Shiraz-Bushehr-Assaluyeh railways' construction has been finalized with a Chinese company.

He announced expansion of Iran-China cooperation in different economic sectors and said that signing the finance agreement will prepare ground for the national project to enter the execution phase.
Expansion of railways network in the country is one of the government's strategies, Nourzad added, and railways between Shiraz, Bushehr and Assalyyeh is one of priorities of the ministry.
He predicted that negotiations with the Chinese company leads to signing a contract soon.
Connection of ports of Bushehr and Assaloyeh will be important to boom Bushehr's commercial position.
Railways between Shiraz, Bushehr and Assaloyeh extends for 630 kilometers, which passes mountainous areas and needs around 30,000 billion rials for construction so the government intends to use foreign financing for execution of this project.
