Minister: Iran committed to decrease CO2 emission by 2030

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA – Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian said Monday that Iran is committed to reduce carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere by 12 percent by the year of 2030.

Addressing the 5th Regional Conference on Climate Change in Tehran, Chitchian said eight percent of that decrease depends on fulfillment of the international cooperation and exchange of foreign knowledge and investment.

Iran has voluntarily promised to decrease emission by four percent of carbon dioxide to year of 2030, said the minister.

The 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP 21) indicated that the today world pays special attention to the issue of climate change and is trying to decrease of the greenhouse gases, said he.
