Fiber optic network instead of copper wire in Iranian houses soon

Tehran, Jan 25, IRNA - Minister of Communications and Information Technology said here Monday that the copper wire network will be replaced by the fiber optic soon in the new Iranian calendar year to start on March 20, 2016.

The fiber optic project to cable data will be operational in the Iranian houses with the help of both domestic and foreign companies, Mahmoud Vaezi told IRNA.

Fiber optic is an environment to transmit data with high speed.

About the Ministry's project, Vaezi said it aims to transmit data and information between the Iranians with high speed and quality.

The Ministry has also held talks with big corporations to invest in the fiber optic project in Iran, said he.

About the 'Implementation Day' of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on January 16 after removal of anti-Iran sanctions, Vaezi said it is a proper opportunity for fostering international interactions.
