Larijani leaves for Baghdad to attend PUIC confab

Tehran, Jan 23, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani left Tehran for Baghdad at the head of a delegation to attend the 11th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC).

The event kicked off on the premises of the Iraqi parliament in Baghdad on Wednesday (January 20) at the level of legislators. The conference will continue by January 25 at the level of parliament speakers.
The gathering will discuss major regional issues, especially terrorism and issues of security concern.
The 11th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Member States is to be attended by 45 Arab and Islamic states.
The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) is composed of the parliaments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) members states. It was established in Iran on 17 June 1999, with its head office situated in Tehran.
