Iceland lifts nuclear-related sanctions on Iran

Tehran, Jan 23, IRNA – Icelandic foreign minister Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson has signed directive to lift all economic and financial restrictive measures on Iran related to nuclear dispute.

This was done in the wake of the UN nuclear agency's confirmation of Tehran's compliance with the historic nuclear deal reached last summer, according to Xinhua news agency.
'There is a reason to celebrate this milestone, which proves that trade sanctions can have a real impact on the international scene. International cooperation and negotiation is a more successful way to resolve the dispute than gunfire,' said Sveinsson in a statement issued on the foreign ministry's website.
