Lebanon Army chief hails Iran's contribution to regional stability

Beirut, Jan 23, IRNA – Lebanese Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji on Saturday hailed Iran's role in maintenance of peace and stability in the region.

Kahwaji made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali.
He briefed the Iranian ambassador on the efforts made by the Lebanese army to prevent spread of terrorism in Lebanon.
Kahwaji said that the Lebanese army is in full readiness to protect the stability and security of the country.
Iranian cultural attaché in Lebanon Mohammad Reza Mirzaei was present in the meeting.
The Lebanese army chief and the Iranian ambassador discussed the latest regional developments and ways for military cooperation between the two governments.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, appreciated the sacrifices made by the Lebanese army and the country's security forces to support the Lebanese national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Fathali said that the army, resistance and the nation are the three main factors for maintaining the unity, territorial integrity and independence of Lebanon.
