Europe should compensate lost opportunities

Athens, Jan 23, IRNA - Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said Europe should compensate its lost opportunities for fostering cooperation with Iran.

Pavlopoulos made the remarks while receiving the credential of new Iranian Ambassador to Greece, Majid Talabi Shabestari.

He also called for reinforcement of all-out cooperation between the two countries.

Touching upon Iran and Greece ancient-old historical and cultural relations, he expressed hope that the mutual cooperation could be expanded in all arenas.

Greek president also voiced his willingness to visit Iran in near future.

'Today West and its European allies have comprehended the real role of Iran,' he added.

Pointing to the pivotal role of Iran in the region, he reiterated that: 'We believe that Iran plays a key role in settling regional developments.'

The Iranian envoy, for his part, said there are huge untapped potential for fostering all-out cooperation between the two countries.
