Deputy FM: Iran ready to cooperate with UNICEF

Tehran, Jan 20, IRNA – Vice Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi said on Wednesday that the Foreign Ministry is ready to cooperate with and support the United Nations Children's Fund, especially on welfare of Iranian children.

Sarmadi made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran with the new UNICEF ambassador to Tehran William Parks.
Noting that children's issues are very sensitive and important, Sarmadi expressed hope that welfare of Iranian children will become an example for regional countries and the entire world.
He underlined the need for close cooperation between UNICEF and the Iranian government.
Meanwhile, the new UNICEF ambassador referred to the official implementation of Iran nuclear deal, saying it was a major achievement for Iranian diplomacy.
Parks expressed hope that he would give a boost to cooperation between Iran and UNICEF during his tenure.
