Rouhani: JCPOA prepares ground for expansion of Iran-EU cooperation

Tehran, Jan 20, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said that implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) has prepared ground for expansion of cooperation between Iran and European Union, especially Bulgaria, in the fields of economy, politics and culture.

Rouhani said that Iran has always considered Bulgaria as one of its friends in Europe.
He added that Iran is interested in developing economic and cultural cooperation with Bulgaria and welcomes contribution of Bulgarian investors and entrepreneurs to Iranian projects.
Referring to his Bulgarian counterpart's statement concerning presence of a great number of Muslims in Bulgaria and existence of more than 1,000v mosques, President Rouhani said that when people with different religions live together in peace and brotherhood, it would be a matter of honor for that nation. He added that religious or ethnical issues should not cause discord in any society.
He also accepted invitation of President Plevneliev to pay an official visit to Bulgaria in an appropriate time.
President Plevneliev referring to age-old ties between Tehran and Sofia said that the 120th anniversary of establishment of displomatic relations between Iran and Bulgaria would be officially celebrated in 2017.
