Unity among Muslims underlined

Beirut, Jan 15, IRNA – Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali and Lebanon's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulatif Deryan stressed the need for unity among Muslims in the face of devastating challenges.

Iran's envoy told reporters after his meeting with Sheikh Deryan that the Muslims should counter the potential threats faced by the Islamic and Arab world through strengthening unity among them.

Fathali said that he discussed issues of the Islamic world, especially threats of Takfiri and Zionism for the entire region.

He also pointed out, 'Under the sensitive situation, we believe in the role of Ulama and we should close our ranks and stand united.'

'We believe that unity among the nations and regional states is the only solution to counter regional threats and no party is immune of the evil of Takfiri and Zionist terrorism,' he said.

Iran's ambassador also discussed regional and Lebanese developments and Tehran-Beirut ties with former Lebanese president Emil Lahoud.
