Gov't bans Saudi products from entering Iran

Tehran, Jan 7, IRNA – In an extraordinary meeting on Thursday, cabinet ministers approved imposing a ban on commodities produced in or transferred from Saudi Arabia from being imported to Iran.

The cabinet members also stipulated that Iran will continue to suspend sending Iranians for performing Umra Hajj pilgrimage.

Saudi government said on Sunday it was severing ties with Tehran after its embassy in Tehran and consulate in Mashad were stormed by angry protesters to show their outrage over Riyadh's brutal execution of prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
