Mashad-Dammam flights cancelled: Official

Mashad, Jan 5, IRNA – Director general of Khorasan Razavi province's airports announced cancellation of flights between Mashad and Saudi Arabia.

Talking to IRNA, Mohammad Baqer Qasemzadeh added that Saudi Airlines operated four flights from Dammam to Mashhad a week.

The company in a letter announced that given the current situation, the flights will be cancelled as of January 5, he said.

Iran Air also had two flights from Mashad to Dammam, which were repeatedly cancelled since the start of autumn and in practice no flights has been operated ever since, Qasemzadeh said.

Mahan Air has also had one or two flights a day which were all cancelled as of December 24 due to lack of authorization.

Mashad's Hashemi-Nejad Airport is the most frequented airport in Iran following Mehrabad Airport which operates 160 to 180 flights on a daily basis.
