Saudi isolation is main reason for enmity with Iran: French expert

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – President of French International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Francois Heisbourg says Riyadh isolation is the main reason for Saudi Arabia's hostility with Iran.

L'Express quoted Heisbourg as saying that certain political analysts and experts believe that the cause of tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia is oil and gas, while in his opinion that's not true.
He said that nuclear accord between Iran and the West and consequently, end of sanctions have weakened and further isolated Saudi Arabia for its oil dumping.
The main cause of Saudis' direct attack on Iran is exactly isolation of Riyadh in the international circles, he added.
Saudi Arabia is more powerful than Iran in terms of Gross Domestic Production per each citizen, he wrote, but it should not be forgotten that economy of the country is fully dependent on oil and financial capital of Saudis abroad.
He concluded that Saudi Arabia is concerned with growing power of Tehran because Iran with a population of eighty million has a multidimensional economy and government, while Saudi Arabia with a population of only 30 million faces depleting resources.
