Zangeneh: Iran already in talks with Maersk

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh said that negotiations with the Danish company Maersk has started since several weeks ago, hoping the talks for developing several oilfields would yield results.

In a meeting with the visiting Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Kristian Jensen on Tuesday, he added that Iran and Denmark have had no cooperation in the field of oil, noting that talks with high-ranking Maersk officials have already begun which will hopefully bring positive results.

Jensen said that Iran is after development of new energies, recalling Iran's high volumes of oil and gas reserves as well as its production capacity.

The Danish official added that the country's companies are prepared to cooperate with Iran in infrastructure and can help development through negotiations.

Maersk has cooperation with Qatar in the development and production of oil from layer of South Pars gas field.
