Italian agriculture minister due in Tehran

Rome, Jan 5, IRNA – Italy's Minister for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Maurizio Martina will visit Iran in February at the head of delegation comprising agricultural and food industries companies.

Talking to AGI, he said that a cooperation agreement with Iran in the agriculture sector was signed in Expo Milan prior to the landmark nuclear deal.
Italy intends to forge ties with Iran in the areas in which it has final say, he said.
The Italian minister said that his visit will take place following Italian delegation trip to Iran which sought to establish new ties with the country.
Martina underlined that mutual relations started prior to nuclear deal between Iran and Group 5+1.
He cited sustainability, dimensions of companies and closer merger of production and processing industries as major points in Italian agricultural industries.
Italian deputy minister of economic development Carlo Calenda arrived in Iran in November 2015 at the head of strong economic delegation.
Calenda has said that other meetings between the Iranian and Italian officials will be held in the coming months.
