Rouhani: Saudis cannot hide beheading opponents by severing ties

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that Saudi government cannot conceal beheading the opponents and the prominent cleric by severing diplomatic relations with Iran.

Referring to the execution of Saudi prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr, he said response to criticism should not be beheading.
Rouhani expressed the hope that European governments, the so-called advocates of human rights, should react promptly and carry out their humanitarian duties.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has very good relations with its neighbors, he said adding that it goes without saying that crime against Islamic Ummah and human rights violations will be responded by the world public opinion.
Saudi government has made a very odd measure to conceal its crimes and has severed diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran but in fact such measures cannot hide such a big crime, Rouhani said.
Iran believes that diplomacy and negotiations are the best way to remove differences and the current status in the region requires all countries to have close cooperation in fight with terrorism, he said.
He said that fighting terrorism could be part of cooperation between Iran and other European states, he said adding that Tehran is ready to broaden cooperation with other countries as well as the European Union states, in particular.
Iran would make efforts to fight terrorism and lead the world free from violence and extremism at the United Nations General Assembly, Rouhani said.
Expansion of relations will be to the benefit of Iran and Denmark nations and also play significant role to bolster peace and stability in the world, Rouhani said.
Presence of Danish economic delegation is a good sign for expansion of economic and cultural ties between the two countries, he said.
Grounds are well prepared for expansion of investments and transfer of technology to Iran, Rouhani said.
Danish Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen, for his part said his country attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with Iran.
Danish economic delegation are eager to initiate their economic cooperation with Iran as soon as possible and they have been advised to transfer technology and investments, said the Danish minister.
On execution of Saudi cleric, he said Denmark was the first country which condemned the Saudi move.
Denmark calls for fight against terrorism in the world and seeks a secured and developed world, he said.
There is no good terrorism, he said adding that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism but some terrorist groups misuse the name of Islam.
