Saudi leaders isolated by execution of major Shia religious leader

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) Ayatollah Mohsen Araki said on Tuesday that Saudi leaders have been driven to isolation by execution of major Shia religious leader Sheikh Nimr.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of a news conference on achievements of the 29th international conference of Islamic Unity.
Araki added that martyrdom of Nimr Baqer al-Nimr had a wide reaction all around the world and all justice seekers and freedom lovers have clear stand against such heinous crime.
He termed severing diplomatic ties with Iran by Saudi Arabia as a 'foolish move', saying that they could not find any supporters except Sudan and Djibouti in Islamic world.
So, the Saudi government, which once claimed leadership of the Islamic world, now has only two money-friends.
The 29th International Conference on Islamic Unity kicked off on December 27 in Tehran in presence of President Hassan Rouhani and held 12 commissions.
