Nobakht: Inhuman Saudi act sign of its failure in Iraq, Syria

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – Cabinet Spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht said the inhuman act of Saudi Arabia in executing Shia scholar Ayatollah Nimr al-Nimr is a sign of its failure in Iraq and Syria.

During his press briefing on Tuesday, he condemned the inhuman act of Saudi Arabia which was carried out in a Daesh-like style and said the Saudi Arabian government supported the old oppressive government in Iraq and now supports Takfiri groups but it has to realize that such acts will get it nowhere.

He said the Saudi government goes on with bombing the defenseless people of Yemen to cover up its defeats.

The spokesman went on to express his appreciation for the freedom-loving people all over the world for their reacting to Saudi Arabia heinous act but still criticized the wrong and suspicious behavior of a very small group of people.

Nobakht said the recent happenings regarding the Saudi Arabian embassy had no religious justifications and from legal aspects too was it suitable for the great nation of Iran.

He said relevant officials have to scrutinize to find out what hands are playing in secret to overshadow the execution of Ayatollah al-Nimr.

He said anyone involved in illegal actions, either knowingly or unknowingly, will be dealt with strongly.

Referring requests by foreign countries to mediate between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Nobakht said Iran certainly enjoyed a high level of experience and maturity and is going to behave in the same way it did in case of its nuclear negotiations when many countries tries to stop signing of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action but failed.

He said Iran will undoubtedly take proper actions towards incidents within international regulations.

The spokesman said Iran is determined to behave in the way which is becoming its ancient civilization and has the power and might to safeguard investments.

Nobakht said Iran was suspicious about certain elements inaction to overshadow the heinous crime of Saudi Arabia by provoking public sentiment.
