Iran, Afghanistan sign joint border agreement

Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan prov, Jan 5, IRNA – Iran and Afghanistan signed a letter of agreement on joint border cooperation.

The agreement, which was signed during a two-day meeting here in southeast of the country, mainly focused on ways of lifting transportation problems between the two countries.

The document was signed by senior transportation officials from the two countries.

The provincial transportation official Ali Khanqaie highlighted the importance of removing obstacles on expansion of trade exchanges between the two countries and said it was planned to have about one thousand trucks travelling between Iran and Afghanistan through joint border each day.

The Afghan official hailed the meeting for having constructive outcomes.
