Thousands hold anti-Saudi protest rally across Pakistan

Islamabad, Jan 3, IRNA – Thousands of people across Pakistan on Sunday held anti-Saudi protest rally for a seconed continuos day to condemn brutal execution of renowned Shia cleric by Saudi regime.

Peaple in capital Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta took to streets on Sunday afternoon to show their anger and hatred against Saudi Kingdom rulers in brutal execution of Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.
While chanting slogans against Saudi rulers and their Western and Zionist supporters, the protesters were carrying banners reading: “Death to AL-e-Saud”, “Death to America”, “Death to Israel”.
Protesters also were carrying posteres of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr to show solidarity with the oppressed Shia minority in Saudi Arabia.

** Pak religious leaders condemn Saudi execution of renowned Shia cleric
Pakistani religious Sunni and Shia leaders strongly condemned execution of renowned Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr adding that such action would only promote terrorism in the Muslim world.
The Saudi Interior Ministry has said 47 people convicted of what the ministry called terrorism have been executed. Prominent Shia cleric Nimr al-Nimr was among those executed, the Interior Ministry said in the statement.
Talking to IRNA, Mufti Gulzar Ahmed Naimi, head of Pakistan's 'Jamaat Ahle Haram' said tyrant Saudi rulers feel threatened by the opposition leaders and in order to stay in power for longer period they are executing them.
“It is a clear example of state terrorism and should be condemned in strongest possible words,” Pakistani Sunni leader said.
He said that Saudi Arabia is promoting terrorism in the Muslim world. He added that Saudis are against all those Muslims who follow different schools of thought. “Saudi Arabia has been harboring terrorists for past many years,” he said.
Also, president of Pakistan's 'Tehrik-e-Islami' party Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi, Pakistani Shia religious-political leader, condemned in strongest words the execution of al-Nimr.
Talking to IRNA, he said these kinds of acts will promote sectarianism and terrorism in the Muslim world.
Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi said that the execution of Shia cleric is illegal and against all internal laws. “This execution will bring more insecurity and political challenges to the Muslim world,” he said
