Berlin, Jan 3, IRNA -- Germany's press on Sunday highlighted critical remarks by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei who strongly criticized the Saudi regime for its latest mass executions, among them Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

The top-selling BILD newspaper headlined the Supreme Leader's statements, warning the Saudi regime that it would ultimately face God's revenge.
It quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying the Almighty would certainly and quickly avenge the blood of Shahid (Martyr) Nimr al-Nimr which was shed in an unjust manner.
He added the martyred scholar was never involved in provoking an armed public uprising nor was he involved in secret plots but simply embarked on slamming the evil acts encouraged by religious fanaticism.
Meanwhile, Germany's dpa Press Agency pointed also to remarks by the Supreme Leader in which he warned the Saudi regime of the divine revenge.
DPA cited the Supreme Leader as saying that martyrdom of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr would have surely consequences for the Saudi dictatorship as it will certainly face the Almighty's revenge.
Focusing on the Supreme Leader's statements about the latest execution wave in Saudi Arabia, the daily WELT newspaper referred to what it termed Ayatollah Khamenei's sharp criticism of the Saudi regime.
It pointed out that the mass execution in the Arab country have further increased tensions between Tehran and Riyadh.
