No request from Iran to buy Russian aircrafts: official

Tehran, Jan 3, IRNA – Iranian airliners have not still requested for buying aircrafts from Russia, said Mohammad Khodakarami, a deputy director in Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization.

He made the remarks in regard to Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin’s statement in November about Moscow’s possibility of delivering a large batch of Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger aircraft to Iran by 2020, the Fars News Agency reported on Saturday.
The planes can be in part localized by Iranian producers if Tehran makes the political decision to purchase ready-made aircraft, Rogozin told Rossiya 24 TV during a two-day trip to Iran.
Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger plane is described as Russia’s most modern commercial jet.
