Brazil keen on strengthening ties with Iran

Tehran, Dec 16, IRNA – Brazilian Minister of External Relations Mauro Vieira voiced his country's support to Iran's accession to World Trade Organization (WTO), saying that the country has devised a draft for promoting mutual relations which will soon be presented to Iran.

In a meeting with the Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Ne'matzadeh who is currently in Kenya at the head of delegation to attend Ministerial Summit of WTO, he added that a special committee will be set up to review mutual cooperation and the two countries' consultations on Iran's accession to WTO.

The committee will also study the areas of cooperation between Tehran and Brazilia.

Ne'matzadh, for his part, stressed the need for consolidating mutual economic ties.

Referring to removal of obstacles in the wake of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he described the grounds for mutual collaboration as suitable.

Given developments unfolded in the past decade, a new copy of Iran's commercial regime has been drawn up and it will be presented to WTO after the chief of working group of Iran's accession to WTO is appointed.

The Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade welcomed strengthening mutual ties, urging further cooperation on the part of Brazil for Iran's accession to WTO.
