Rouhani: Oil producers should cooperate to improve market situation

Tehran, Nov 23, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Monday called for improved oil market situation and enhanced economic cooperation with Venezuela.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro.
President Rouhani called on oil producers to contribute to improve the current situation of oil market.
President Rouhani also called for activation of Iran-Venezuela Joint Economic Commission.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Venezuela are friends and united and will do their utmost in favor of their nations' economic development and welfare, he said.
President Rouhani said that Tehran is ready to broaden scientific, academic, commercial and industrial cooperation with Venezuela.
Iran and Venezuela have close stance about political and regional developments, said President Rouhani.
The two countries are opposed to violating the rights of the Palestinian people, he said, calling for an end to terrorism, current conflicts in Iraq and Syria and restoration of security in these countries and collective steps by the international community to fight terrorism which has turned into a dilemma.
Cooperation among energy producing and exporting countries is vital to make a balanced and stabilized market, he said.
Venezuelan president said for his part that his country has very good experience on having close cooperation with Iran on carrying out joint venture development projects in Venezuela.
'I believe that under Tehran presidency, the issues pertaining to gas producers will be addressed with more success,' he said.
The two nations are eager to broaden scope of mutual relations and cooperation after termination of economic sanctions on Iran, he said.
Maduro is on a visit to Tehran to attend the Summit of Leaders of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) opened in Tehran this afternoon with participation of seven world presidents and a prime minister.
