Ahmad Hamzehzadeh told a ceremony to mark the tourism week that the motto of the week 'One Tourist One Opportunity', noting that job generation is one of the positive impacts of the tourism industry.
Arasbaran is a large mountainous area stretching from the Qusha Dagh massif, south of Ahar, to the Aras River in East Azerbaijan Province of Iran.
The region is confined to Aras River in the north, Meshkin Shahr County and Moghan in the east, Sarab County in the south, and Tabriz and Marand counties in the west.
Since 1976, UNESCO has registered 72,460 hectares of the region as biosphere reserve.
Hamzehzadeh said that tourism industry serves international peace and security, friendship and strengthening bonds between the nations and tribes.
East Azarbaijan boasts of numerous capacities in the field of tourism, he said, noting that over 5,000 tourism sites have been identified across the province, of which 1,800 have been registered on national heritage list and two on global heritage list.

Tabriz, Sept 27, IRNA – File of Arasbaran Forests is currently being completed for its registration on global heritage list and it may happen in 2016, deputy head of East Azarbaijan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization said on Sunday.
