Zarif attends UN meeting on Afghanistan in New York

New York, Sept 26, IRNA – Foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Iran, China, the US and the representative of the European Union in Foreign Policy Affairs attending the meeting of Peace Development and Afghanistan Regional Cooperation reiterated need for supporting Afghan government.

New York, Sept 26, IRNA – Foreign ministers of Afghanistan, Iran, China, the US and the high representative of the European Union in Foreign Policy Affairs attending the meeting of Peace Development and Afghanistan Regional Cooperation reiterated the need for supporting the Afghan government.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also attended the meeting at the invitation of Afghanistan's Executive Chief Abdullah Abdullah.

The meeting on Afghanistan was held on the sidelines of the 70th UN General Assembly meeting in the New York City on Saturday.

During the meeting, the participants underlined the role of the friendly and neighborly countries of Afghanistan and the international community in protecting peace, security, unity and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.
