Talking after his meeting with his German counterpart Wolfgang Niersbach in Frankfurt, Kafashian pointed to upcoming negotiations on the time and venue of such a match.
Germany is very much interested to play against us. They said we only played once against Iran and we have good memories of that game and therefore they want to have another match against us, Kafashian said.
We also expressed our interest and we agreed that both federations would start to discuss the time and venue for the match. Plans for such a match would be prioritized by both sides in a bid to reach an agreement, he added.
According to Kafashian, Germany has voiced interest to host the Iranian national football team.
We said that is no problem. The match could be either in Iran or Germany, he added.
Kafashian referred also to upcoming talks with the German federation to have a training camp in Germany for the Iranian football national squad.
There are also plans to have a number of matches between Germany and Iran on the junior team level, he added.
Stressing Iran's determination to boost football cooperation with Germany, Kafashian said Germany can play a significant role in training Iranian male and female coaches and especially junior team instructors as well as helping to devise a system to scout football talents.
