He said, “Seven years ago, when I was working on a play titled ‘Earth’s Dance’, the idea popped up in my mind to produce a play about the personality and life of Ahmad Qavām, a politician who served as prime minister of Iran five times.
I began to pen the play and, concurrently, studied a great deal in this regard,” the Tehran-based English newspaper Iran Daily reported.
Pakdel added he is preparing the play’s final version.
The play will focus on a segment of Qavam’s private and social life adopting a modern outlook, he stressed, adding despite his strengths and weaknesses, Qavam played a significant role in a number of historical critical turning points during the past century.
Born in 1876 to a prominent Iranian family, Qavam served in the royal court of the Qajar king, Nasereddin Shah early in his career.
He slowly made his way up obtaining the title ‘Qavam al-Saltaneh’ during the Constitutional Revolution of Iran (1905-1911).
