Interior minister orders collecting data on smugglers' financial assets

Tehran, April 29, IRNA – The interior minister and head of Anti-Narcotics Campaign Headquarters in an order to his deputy demanded collecting information on financial resources of narcotic smuggling, as the life veins of smuggling mafia networks.

Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli in the order asked Alireza Jazini to implement Article 1 of the System's Macro Policies, defined by the Supreme Leader, which calls for comprehensive and resolute campaign against all illegal activities and acts related to narcotic drugs.



The interior minister asked his deputy in the Anti-Narcotics Campaign Headquarters to establish a committee composed of authoritative officials from all concerned organizationsto come up with a comprehensive sum-up on the issue and report it in the first session of that headquarters.



He recommended complete review of the dossiers of major drug smuggling bands over the past five years that led to the arrest their ring leaders and precise calculation of the financial assets and wealth of main members of the drug bands and those who are related with them in this new efforts to uproot smuggling in Iran.



He also advised the new commission to report their findings to the Money Laundering Commission so that they can in turn check the bank accounts of the drug dealers and pursue the exact receivers of such dirty and illegitimate money at all levels.



'It is expected that in implementing the important order the entire members of the Headquarters, including the interior minister, the finance and economy minister, the prosecutor general, and the police chief will, as they have always done, do all their best to materialize the objectives of the Islamic system,' concludes Fazli.
