Iranshahr combined cycle power plant operation kicks off

Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchistan province, April 28, IRNA – Operation of Iranshahr combined cycle power plant kicked off in presence of Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian on Tuesday.

Governor of Iranshahr told reporters that the combined-cycle power plant has production capacity of 484 megawatt including two gas units with capacity of 162 megawatt and one steam unit of 160 megawatt.

Nabi bakhsh Davoudi said that the power plant is fuelled by natural gas.

He added that Iranshahr has two power plants, including the old one, which is of type of gas thermal and the new power plant is type of combined cycle.

The official added that Iranshahr thermal power plant production capacity is 256 megawatt, including four gas units of 64 megawatt.

Meanwhile, Hamid Chitchian reviewed electricity needs of the province with the governor general and the provincial officials in the context of 20th national conference of energy and electricity distribution networks.

Iranshahr located in 340 kilometers south of Zahedan, capital of Sistan-Baluchestan province.
