Philippines speaker commends cultural relations with Iran

Isfahan, April 27, IRNA – The Philippines Parliament Speaker Feliciano Belmonte said on Monday that cultural affinities between the two nations would serve to deepen mutual cooperation.

Delivering speech at the official ceremony sponsored by Isfahan governor-general, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Philippines have very close cultural and social interaction.

He said that he was pleased with his dream to come true by paying a visit to the city of Isfahan.

Isfahan Governor-General Rasoul Zargarpour for his part referred to the two nations cultural affinities and expressed the hope that such visits would prepare the ground to broaden relations between the two countries.

He also expressed the hope that the meeting between the Philippines parliament speaker with his Iranian counterpart and consultations with some other officials would lead to development of economic cooperation.

The Philippines parliament speaker leading a parliamentary delegation arrived in Isfahan to visit the historical monuments as well as tourist attractions in the city.

He will also visit the city of Shiraz and will come back to Tehran to confer with high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests and regional and global developments.
