Drafting text on lifting sanctions is complicated: Araqchi

Tehran, April 25, IRNA – Senior nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi says drafting the text of lifting anti-Iran sanctions is a 'complicated and wide-ranging' task which has already started and will continue next week in New York at the ministerial level.

'We have done intensive work for three days on the framework of what we're going to do and then started the drafting the item on sanctions,' said Araqchi.

'Given the misunderstandings that have arisen during the past days and regarding the enigmatic remarks made by the other side, we insist that there must be a clear image about sanctions.'

The deputy foreign minister said Iran's stance is quite clear and all the agreements reached in the past have been put in Lausanne joint statement.

He stressed that all economic and financial sanctions should be removed on the same day when a final agreement is signed.

'We are trying to keep the atmosphere of negotiations constructive and lead them toward its right path.'

Araqchi said the negotiations continue next week in New York in which Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammd Javad Zarif, US Secretary of State John Kerry, and UN Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini will take part.
