'Some people says why he (the Leader) has not taken a position on the nuclear issue, there is no need to take a position. Officials say nothing has been done yet and that noting is binding. I am neither in favor nor against it,' said the Leader addressing a local gathering held here on the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of Hazrat Zahra (SA), the daughter of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
'I was never optimistic about negotiating with the US; However I agreed with this particular negotiations. I have supported and will support the negotiators.' Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader added that details are important in the nuclear talks.
'It is possible that while discussing the details, the other disloyal party intends to limit our country. What has happened so far will neither guarantee the agreement itself nor its content. It will not even guarantee completion of the negotiations. Therefore it is meaningless to congradulate me or others about it.'
The Supreme Leader stressed he will support an agreement that 'will safeguard national interests and dignity.'
However, noted the Leader, 'failing to achieve an agreement is much better than making a deal that will damage the interests and dignity of the nation.'
