50 countries participating in Int'l Holocaust Cartoon Contest

Tehran, April 4, IRNA – Cartoonists from 50 countries have submitted their works to the secretariat of the Second Int'l Holocaust Cartoon Contest.

Participating countries in the upcoming event include Iran, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Australia, the US, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Britain, Turkey, Sudan, Spain, Serbia, Senegal, Russia, Romania, Nigeria, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Germany, France, Egypt, Denmark, Cuba, Colombia, China, Bulgaria, Canada and Brazil.

According to the public relations department of the Int'l Holocaust Cartoon Contest, most of the participating artists at the event are from Iran, France, Indonesia and Turkey.

Since call-up for the competition was issued later in January, western media showed negative reactions for holding the event.

Secretary of the first and second competition, Seyyed Massoud Shojaei-Tabatabaei was banned from entering 20 countries and event he was threatened with death.

Second round of the event will be organized by Tehran Sar-Cheshmeh Cultural Complex in cooperation with Owj Artistic Media Organization.
