Iranian, Italian FMs discuss Gaza on phone

Tehran, July 28, IRNA -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a telephone conversation on Sunday with his Italian counterpart Federica Mogherini discussed the latest developments in Palestine, specially Gaza.

During the telephone conversation today, Zarif and Mogherini underlined the need for proper measures by the international bodies to stop Israel's aggressions against the defenseless Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Zarif underlined the need for the international community's all-out pressures on Israel to halt its attacks on the defenseless Palestinians.

The Iranian foreign minister underlined the need for international efforts to supply relief aid and dispatch physicians as well as medical equipment to Gaza through neighboring countries of Palestine.

Zarif reiterated the need for supports by Italy and the European Union to the Palestinians' demand to lift Gaza siege and said that it is a humanitarian step based on Palestine's realities.

The Italian foreign minister, for her part, elaborated on the European Union's measures to alleviate the existing crisis in Gaza.
