Iranian physicians protest Israel assaults on Gaza medical centers

Tehran, July 25, IRNA – Iranian physicians in a letter to various international bodies protested against Zionist regime assaults on Gaza medical centers.

1200 Iranian physicians affiliated to the country’s Social Security Organization (SSO) on Friday, in separate letters to the UN Secretary-General, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and World Health Organization(WHO) protested against Zionist regime’s assaults on defenseless civilians in Gaza medical centers.

The letter asked these international bodies to condemn and punish those behind attacks on Gaza medical centers.

Based on Medical neutrality rules outlined in the Geneva human rights conventions, all parties involved in a war must refrain from attacking and misusing medical facilities, transport, and personnel.

Israel has bombed at least 25 health care facilities, killing and injuring several medical workers in Gaza during the recent war against this region.

Zionist regime has been pounding the blockaded Gaza for 18 consecutive days now, killing more than 800 people and injuring more than 4,600 others.

According to the UN, 77% of the victims in Gaza are civilians and defenseless people. Since July 8, Israeli warplanes have been carrying out incessant airstrikes against Gaza.
