Iran strongly condemns Israel's crimes in Beit Hanoun

Tehran, July 25, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham in a statement strongly condemned Israel's crimes in Beit Hanoun region of the Gaza Strip which resulted in death of a large number of women and children in a school under the auspices of the UN.

'The responsibility for repeating war crimes against the defenseless and shelterless people of Gaza Strip, including the school run by the relief and rescue agency of the UN is directly pointing to the UN and its affiliated bodies.

She noted that today more than any time before it has become evident that the savagery of the Zionists will commit any crime against the defenseless people of Gaza.

At least 15 Palestinian people were killed on Thursday, including a baby, when Israeli tanks opened fire on a UN-run school in northern Gaza.

A UN official confirmed there were 'multiple dead and injured' in the attack on a school in the city of Beit Hanoun.

The facility was being used by the United Nations as a shelter for hundreds of Palestinians fleeing a major Israeli operation in the area.

At least 150 people were injured in the blast.

IRNA reporter said that it is the fourth time a UN facility has been hit during the Israeli offensive.

Reporters in Gaza say that Israel is pursuing ethnic cleansing in Gaza and deliberately seeks to take heavy tolls on the civilians enjoying support from Washington.
