Zarif: Iran, G5+1 agree to extend nuclear talks

Vienna, July 19, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced that Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) have reached an agreement to extend the nuclear talks.

'Iran and the G5+1 agreed on extension of nuclear talks,' he said.

According to informed sources, Tehran and G5+1 have agreed to extend the talks for another four months.

Iran and the G5+1 had previously agreed to reach a final agreement by Sunday July 29.

Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton are slated to announce the result of their agreement in a joint statement within next minutes.

Meantime, a senior member of Iran's nuclear team told IRNA correspondent in Vienna that Iran and G5+1 will hold several joint meeting within coming weeks.
