Iran ranks 3rd in world Greco-Roman competitions

Tehran, July 17, IRNA – Young Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers stood 3rd at the 2014 Federation Internationale des Luttes Associees (FILA) Cadet World Championships in Slovokia.

According to Wrestling Federations Public Relations, in the tournament, Arman Alizadeh, in 76-kg weight category, snatched a gold medal, Mohammad Reza Aqania, in 50 kg, grabbed a silver, and Alireza Nejati, Pooya Nasserpoor, and Karamat Abdvali won 3 bronze medals.

Russia stood 1st in the competitions with 49 points; Azerbaijan Republic stood 2nd with the same points and Iran ranked 3rd with 43 points.

Last year, Iranian young Greco-Roman wrestlers won only one gold medal in the world competitions in Serbia and stood 8th in the world.
