Tehran, July 13, IRNA – A senior Iranian lawmaker underlined that Iran likes to see a strong Afghanistan as its neighbor.

He noted that the recent developments in Afghanistan is very important for the Iranian nation and government, and said, 'Some issues have been raised by Abdullah Abdullah about the recent presidential elections in Afghanistan, but this issue does not cause if any of these two people become president of that country not to have good relations with Iran.'

Mansouri Arani said that Iran as Afghanistan's neighboring country believes that no interference should be made in the internal affairs of other countries because the fates of other countries will be determined by its own people.

He reiterated that stability and security in the countries of the region, including Afghanistan, is important for Iran, and said, 'I hope that president of that country will soon take charge sooner to help stability and tranquility return to that country.'
