Lebanese Labor Min: Kataeb Party favors sustainable ties with Iran

Beirut, Apr 13, IRNA – Lebanese Labor Minister, Deputy Head of Kataeb Party Leader Amin Jamayel, Sejaan Azzi said here Saturday his party asks for sustainable relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Sejaan Azzi made the comment in a televised interview, noting that Iran is a major country in the region with high influence in the Middle East, including in Lebanon and Syria, emphasizing that no side can ignore Iran's role.

He all the same stressed that his affiliated party, the Kataeb, has 'no regular or even periodical relations' with the Lebanese Resistance Movement Hezbollah.

'The two sides' relations are summed up in the relations between the two organizations' ministers and representatives in the cabinet, or in the parliament, as well as the meetings between Ami Jamayel and the representative of Hezbollah Muhammad Raad in national dialogues.

Jamayel's deputy meanwhile said that Kataeb Party is not opposed to having relations with Hezbollah, but tries to have constructive and serious relations with that movement, to which Lebanon is indebted for its security and territorial integrity.
